Load Shedding Update:
Eskom, the South African power utility, has announced that load shedding will be downgraded from stage 3 to stage 2 today (15 January) until Tuesday afternoon on the back of lower demand and better generation performance. Despite the devastation caused by the weekend storms in KwaZulu-Natal, Eskom has intensified efforts to restore electricity to affected areas.
According to Eskom’s official Twitter account, the power utility has announced that, due to further improvement in generation performance and lower than anticipated electricity demand, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented today until Tuesday. Eskom also said that it will communicate the outlook for the week later this afternoon.
